Steps to authenticate a certificate in Türkiye from Turkish Cyprus

To authenticate a certificate issued by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), the following steps must be followed to ensure its acceptance in other countries or institutions. The process may vary slightly depending on the target country, but the general procedure includes:

1-Authentication by the University or Educational Institution

Ensure that the certificate is stamped and signed by the university or institution that issued it.

For academic documents, you may need to visit the Student Affairs Office or the department responsible for authentication at the university.

2-Authentication by the Higher Education Ministry (if applicable)

If the certificate is academic, it must be authenticated by the Ministry of Higher Education in TRNC to confirm its official issuance.

3-Authentication by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in TRNC

After verifying the certificate with the educational institution, it must be submitted to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in TRNC for authentication.

This authentication confirms that the document is genuine and issued by a recognized authority.

4-Authentication by the Embassy or Consulate

If you need to use the certificate in a specific country, it must be authenticated by the embassy or consulate of that country in TRNC.

This step ensures that the document is legally accepted in the target country's system.

Authentication by Local Authorities in the Destination Country (if required)
In some countries, additional authentication from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or local authorities in the destination country may be required.

Important Notes:

  • Make sure to bring the original certificate along with a photocopy.

  • There may be fees for the authentication process; check the required amounts in advance.

  • If a translation is needed, have the document translated by a certified translator before authentication.
